When Should I Refer?

Weekly therapy isn't enough? It may be time for a higher level of care. Refer when you see any of these: symptoms are interfering with school, work, relationships, or daily life; anxiety or OCD continues despite outpatient treatment; the patient needs more structure/support than weekly therapy; medication hasn't provided adequate relief; the patient is stepping down from inpatient, residential, or PHP care. Not sure? That's okay. We can help determine fit.

What Can I Refer For?

Patients can be referred directly for any of these services. TAC does not accept referrals for individual therapy alone.

TMS

SPRAVATO®

Intranasal esketamine therapy, delivered and monitored by psychiatric professionals. Offered at all three locations.

PSYCHIATRY

Referral Checklist

Who to refer: severe to complex anxiety/OCD and related conditions

Ages: children, adolescents, and adults (9–13, 14–18, adults)

Locations: Cincinnati, Dayton, Indianapolis. Virtual/hybrid options for eligible services.

When TAC may not be appropriate: detox/medical stabilization, active need for inpatient hospitalization, medically unstable eating disorder, individual therapy only, or other situations requiring a different level of care. If we're not the right fit, we don't just send the patient back. Our team helps connect them with appropriate community resources whenever possible.
