Program Overview
The Anxiety Center's Virtual Intensive Outpatient (IOP) Programs offer three distinct tracks tailored to different age groups: children ages 9-12, adolescents ages 13-17, and adults 18+. These programs provide immediate, short-term, and comprehensive treatment for individuals whose obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) or complex anxiety symptoms significantly impair daily functioning. Grounded in daily exposure and response prevention therapy (ERP), the programs aim to help participants tolerate symptoms and reduce the distress they cause, fostering a meaningful, enjoyable, and values-based life despite anxiety. In addition to ERP, our virtual programs emphasize acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and skill-building in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Participants are encouraged to work through anxiety in pursuit of personal values, demonstrating that a fulfilling life is possible despite uncertainty or discomfort.

Treatment ProgramsOur center runs four separate programs. The first is our assessment program which conducts neuropsychological, psychoeducational, executive functioning, and autism evaluations. We focus on delivering accurate, timely, and accessible reports written for the family and directly linked to the child's or adult's intervention needs. Secondly, we have an anxiety program which treats the full range of anxiety and OC spectrum disorders. Treatment protocols in the anxiety clinic are heavily based on current research in exposure therapy, but include other cognitive behavioral strategies based on the individual needs of the patient. Thirdly, we have a mood disorders program which treats depressive disorders, bipolar spectrum disorder, disruptive mood dysregulation disorder, suicidality and self-harm. Treatment in our mood program focuses on core CBT, mindfulness-based treatment, and behavioral activation. The level of integration of each facet depends on the child's needs and response to treatment. Finally, our co-occurring behavior program will take on cases of oppositional defiant disorder, conduct disorder, ADHD, and autism related agression and social skills development. This program is grounded in behavior analysis with moderate integration of cognitive techniques when indicated. While we do welcome all applicants, it will be important to consider if our approach to treatment is a good match for your interest and skill set. We value the contributions of all those in the mental health field, but one of our core values is to deliver treatment that is firmly established in scientific research. If this value is in aligment with the way that you approach treatment and you are willing to engage in harnassing your skills in empirical treatment, then we believe you may be an incredible asset to our team.
