Preya Coats earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work with a minor in Psychology from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2018, followed by her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Akron in 2021. During her undergraduate studies, she served as Vice President of the Social Work Club and presented at a conference for the NASW.
Preya’s experience spans school, residential, and private practice settings. She has provided therapeutic services to children, teens, and adults with a wide variety of mental health diagnoses. Her background includes work in elementary and middle schools, nursing homes, and private practice, offering case management and therapy for individuals and families across the lifespan.
Preya has extensive experience treating anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, PTSD, autism spectrum disorder, and grief. She uses evidence-based approaches such as CBT, strengths-based therapy, and interpersonal therapy to help clients achieve their goals. Her collaborative approach involves working closely with clients, families, and professionals to ensure holistic care.
Preya’s goal is to empower clients to become experts in their own diagnoses and to help them develop healthy coping strategies that promote lasting emotional growth and improved quality of life.
